Olympic open weekend

I have never been to the Olympic site, so I thought it was all very exciting. When we got there this nice lady gave us a 2012 sticker (which I’ve kept and stuck in my diary!) She had a sweet little dog; I personally think it should be the Olympic Mascot because it so confident, beautiful and it walked around like it owned the place. Then we got given our very own name tags and underneath Urban Pioneer was in bold letters... I wore my name tag with pride =p it’s funny how the tiniest things can make a person happy.

I’ve learnt so much about the Olympic building, Kay Hughes talked about the scale of the Olympic site and how everything will be demounted and made a lot smaller after the games so that it is easier to run and will save energy, which is great for the environment. Everything is going to plan and they are ahead of their schedule and I can’t wait to see how it looks once it’s all finished, It’s so exciting!

Me and Alex interviewed Kay Hughes and John Hopkins, I think we make a good team because we both ask completely different questions and that made the interviews more interesting and complete. I'm glad to know that they are not just thinking about designing a beautiful building, there are also very concerned about making it environmental friendly. I love the fact that John Hopkins sees the Olympic Games as an opportunity to bring people from different cultures and backgrounds together, and in his talk he said that he wants people to perceive London’s 2012 Olympics as a big festival!

My favourite part of the day was the Interviews, because I'm really outgoing and I love interacting with people. Some people were so enthusiastic about the whole Olympic process which was lovely to see. I am so pleased that it’s going to take place in London because it is a huge event and it’s very positive for our city.

That’s all from meee,

stay tuned for more urban pioneer movements.
